10x The nicest beach clubs in Ibiza

Sa Caleta-Ibiza

Our favorite beach clubs in Ibiza

When you think of Ibiza you probably think of sun, sea, parties and beautiful nature. Totally correct! With this thought, beach clubs obviously cannot be missing. This list consists of well-known but mostly somewhat lesser-known beach towns. As Ibiza locals, we can greatly enjoy the somewhat smaller-scale away-from-the-mass beach clubs. In short, a list of all kinds of different types of beach clubs. Chilling with the locals or fancy partying with the jet set? We’ll leave it up to you. Below is our list of favorite spots. Have fun on our beautiful island!

1. Experimental

If you drive right through the salt fields of Las Salina you will at some point come to Experimental. A lovely trendy beach club where lounging is excellent. The decor looks cheerful and hip with a characteristic bohemian look. Ample choice of large sunbeds or a beach bed. The food is very good and the sunset possibly even better. It also tends to be a bit quieter than at the popular Las Salinas beach a little further up. Also nice is that this beach club doesn’t close until 02:00. Great place to spend the whole day so and in the evening you can also get your feet off the floor.

Location:

Turn towards Salinas before the little store into the salt fields!

Why go?
Especially enjoy the beautiful sunset here, but really you can stay here all day (and night).

2. Chiringuito Cala Escondida

In 2015, Tess, daughter of Dutch actress Kees ter Bruggen and musician Eric-Jan Harmsen, spotted the beautiful nude beach Cala Escondida and decided to build a pop-up bar restaurant there the same year. Together with her Ibicenco husband Jordy, she used ecologically sound materials, including a beautiful solar-powered roof. The chiringuito is built in April, and (unfortunately) must be taken down again by the end of October.

Chiringuito Cala Escondido really belongs in our top 10 because the location is fantastic, the service is relaxed and the beach bar snacks are delicious. The menu includes healthy tapas, home-made humus, chicken wraps and veggie burgers, all served with biodegradable cutlery and cups made of wood or cardboard. Open from 9 am for breakfast and at night a nice mix of locals and hip tourists for drinks with one of the best sunsets on the island. Chiringuito Cala Escondido closes at 10 pm.

Location:

From Sant Josep or San Antonio, follow the signs for Cala Comte and you will find Chiringuito Cala Escondida right next to the large parking lot 50 meters before Sunset Ashram. There is a rock with “nude beach” written on it. The stairs to this beautiful cove are quite steep.

Why go?
Nice people and wonderfully small scale.

Chiringuito Cala Escondida

3. Elements

Elements is located on Benirras, one of Ibiza’s most iconic beaches. The interior is a collection of recycled items and modern minimalism. Especially on Sundays it is very crowded here when the hippies go drumming.

The cuisine is Mediterranean and led by Pep Herrero. He himself describes his food as traditional recipes in a contemporary twist. Many products in this restaurant come directly from the island.

Elements itself organizes occasional beach parties. This really comes highly recommended. Want to know when these are? Keep an eye on the Facebook page.

Location:

On the beach of Benirras in the north of Ibiza.

Why go?
Ideal to combine with the sunset hippie drumming session.

4. Chiringuito Cala Gracioneta

For a long time, this was a hidden spot not known to the general public. It is gradually getting a little busier but this certainly does not make it any less fun. Chiringuito Gracioneta is a very cozy decorated beach club. You can come here for drinks, dinner or a sumptuous lunch.

Cala Gracioneta is a small beach with pearly white sand and what is very shallow. Fine place to come with the family as well.

The beach club is very atmospheric with different spots to enjoy. Our favorite spot is left to the top where there are some tables near the rocks.

Location:

Above San Antonio drive to the Stella Maris hotel. If you drive past that, at some point you can turn left into a narrow street. Then you will see the name and you can enter through 1 of the 2 doors.

Why go?
Very nice little beach and the paella is excellent!

Chiringuito Cala Gracioneta

5. Sa Trinxa

In our opinion, the most cozy beach club in Las Salinas. Not as fancy as the rest of the beach clubs on this beach. Straightforward with lots of parties and live music in the summer. If you are a fan of electronic music then you should definitely go here.

On the beach right in front of the club you will find the famous green walkway into the sea. Perfect for jumping off and cooling off for a while.

Perfect place to enjoy a day of music and the occasional refreshing dip.

Location:

The last beach club at the end of Las Salinas.

Why go?
If you like a party you are welcome here!

6. Chirincana

If you thought Es Canar is all doom and gloom you’ve never been to Chirincana. A bar-restaurant at the end of Cala Martina beach, it is best known for being next to Camping Laplaya Ibiza and within walking distance of the Punta Arabi hippie market in Es Canar. So the bar takes advantage of Wednesday’s hippemarket day by having live music that night. This is highly recommended! There is also live music on Friday and Sunday evenings. That may be a DJ, but with any luck there will be a flamenco night or African dancers dancing.

You’ll find a cozy mix of locals and tourists here. The house band is really top notch and there is a lot of dancing here especially.

The restaurant is colorful and stands out from Cala Martina beach with its large wicker umbrellas. You can walk around the campground from Chirincana to the beautiful rocks of Punta Arabi.

Location:

Next to camping LaPlaya in Es Canar.

Why go?
Lovely loose parties that attract many locals. Very cozy!

Chirincana

7. Blue Marlin

For years a household name in Ibiza spain villa. From May to late September, this is the place to enjoy delicious cocktails and sophisticated food during the day until the early hours of the night. Blue Marlin offers white sunbeds, beautiful people and unforgettable sunsets. A truly decadent place where the international jet set can often be found. Do bring a fat wallet because it’s not cheap here! Want to experience the luxury side of Ibiza for once? Then this (especially on Sundays) is the place for you!

Regularly during the season, there are sponsored events here. Think Playboy, Grey Goose and the like. Blue Marlin also hosts its own parties with house DJs.

This is the place to be on Sundays! Definitely a place you must have been at some point.

Location:

Cala Jondal!

Why go?
Treating yourself to a nice decadent party.

Blue Marlin

8. Utopia

Just the 10-minute climb to this little hidden beach is worth it, with beautiful views to the bay of San Miguel and the private islet of Illa des Bosc with its beach of Sa Ferradura.

Utopia is totally the opposite of the Blue Marlin above. The white plastic tables and chairs are a bit off-putting, but you sit there wonderfully and the service is very friendly. The food here is simple but oh so delicious! The prices here are also very reasonable compared to other beach clubs on this list. Here you will experience the old authentic Ibiza feeling. Shabby chic shall we say!

Location:

Near the large family beach of San Miguel, behind Chiringuito Pascual, a road leads to the small beach of Cala d´es Moltons.

Why go?
Shabby chic and far away from the crowd.

Utopia

9. Aiyanna

Over the past few years, Cala Nova has become a hugely enjoyable beach. Partly because of the several nice beach clubs located here. But of all these joints, Aiyanna stands out head and shoulders above the rest.

Aiyanna on Cala Nova is one of the new tastemakers on this beautiful beach. The entire restaurant exudes the atmosphere of Bali. Wicker chairs, large colored umbrellas and excellent Mediterranean cuisine with lots of produce from its own garden. The water at Cala Nova is the clearest of all the beaches on the east coast.

Location:

On the beach of Cala Nova, east Ibiza.

Why go?
Experience the Balinese setting and the wonderfully clear waters of Cala Nova.

Aiyanna

10. Deeva Sunset

We hesitated for a while to include Deeva in our top 10, but since this beach club changed hands in 2017, the same man behind Cala Bassa Beach Club, we added this somewhat newer beach club anyway.

At Port des Torrent beach, a 10-minute drive from San Antonio, there are two CBCB Group restaurants: Deeva Gastro and Deeva Sunset. The latter is located where before 2017 the Imagine, popular among locals, was. An intimate no-nonsense spot to enjoy the sunset. The new owner transformed the place into a fancy restaurant with lots of white interiors, big loungers and handsome staff. Something we are seeing more and more in Ibiza. Still, the location and location of the restaurant remains fantastic and the many ivy with flowers makes the trendy restaurant a little less cool.

In short, Deeva Sunset Beach Site added in the top 10 for those who want a day of all-the-way pampering. We recommend reserving your lounger and lunch table!

Location:

Port des Torrent beach.

Why go?
The Cala Bassa Beach Club feel but a bit more intimate.

Deeva Sunset
