The Giri Cafe
Menu: Mediterranean / fusion
Don’t be mistaken by the name “café.” You don’t expect it but behind the small door at the entrance you really find a top-notch restaurant. The Giri Café is located in the northern village of San Juan. The restaurant is incredibly tastefully decorated with a good attention to detail.
You can go here for both lunch and dinner. Our recommendation is to sit in the garden during lunch. There are several sunbeds or terraces where the fragrance of the flowers in the garden come to you. True to its hippie roots, the greens here are grown organically themselves. The service here is also very friendly. The menu is Mediterranean with some inspiration here and there from more exotic locations. Think Asian or Moroccan. There is an extensive wine list that the staff is only too happy to explain a bit about. If you spend a day in the north this is an absolute must.
Tip: Combine a visit here with a trip along the beautiful north coast and, in particular, the tucked-away cove of Cala den Serra.
