Vacations in Ibiza with kids
When you think of Ibiza, you probably don’t immediately think of a child-friendly island. It is seen by many people as a place where the best parties take place. But Ibiza is extremely child-friendly and therefore the perfect destination to go to with (small) children. Outside of those few places you might not see yourself with your kids, there are so many wonderful fun places to go to though! On this page you will find tips for a carefree and great vacation in Ibiza with children.
What do we think about with children in Ibiza?
We have made a selection of nice beaches that are safe with children (think: nice sandy beach with long shallow section). We have picked out a selection of nice restaurants where you can go with your children without worries and where they are thought of. And we have listed some fun activities that are great fun with kids.
If you want to immediately look at the nicest houses where you can best go with your children (with play equipment, table tennis, facilities for babies, or pool gate), look here.
Best travel time
Actually, all months are fine to go to Ibiza with children, yet we can recommend traveling outside the real high season, should this be a possibility. April (the sea and pools can still be a bit chilly then), May, June and early July are good times, but September and October are also top. If the children are not yet of school age, we can recommend June and September the most. The temperature is actually the nicest (not bloody hot, and never cold), the pools are nicely warmed up, it is not very crowded, on the beaches you have space, and the prices of houses are relatively good. Should you want to come on summer vacation, July is often just a little cheaper and quieter than August!
Transportation
It is advisable to rent a car in Ibiza, especially with children. Many houses are not directly on the beach, so taking the car to a beach or village is often necessary. Riding scooters is not really recommended, and public transportation is actually poor. Ask us for a good car rental that includes child seats, so convenient!
Child-friendly beaches in Ibiza
Ibiza has as many as 53 different beaches, but not all of them are equally suitable for families and especially small children. Here we pay particular attention to a good beach with soft sand, accessibility (so not too far to walk from the parking lot), whether the beach slopes gently, and thus does not get very deep all at once. And preferably also with some extra facilities for parents.
Es Niu Blau
This really is a children’s beach par excellence. In high season there are slides in the water. The beach has very fine sand and is wide. Lots of room to play so. Soulgood restaurant is highly recommended with kids. Everything they sell is 100% homemade and organic. Don’t expect Coke and fries here. There is an area for the kids to play and parents can enjoy the view. Pura Vida can also be found here. This one sits right by the sea. The place is always crowded with other children so a playmate is easily found!
Cala Llenya
This really is eminently the perfect family beach. The beach is long and wide so there is a lot of room to play. The beach is sheltered from both sides so there are few large waves. The water remains shallow for a long time. On Cala Llenya beach there are several picnic tables and eateries where you can buy some snacks. Also nice is that there are always many children here so there is always someone to play with. Dogs are also welcome at this beach.
Cala Llonga
Cala Llonga is also a very suitable beach for children. The water is very clear and shallow for a long time. Like Cala Llenya, Cala Llonga is a sheltered cove. The beach there is very wide and long with plenty of room to play. The beach is located on a promenade meet many different stores and restaurants. For early risers, this is also a great place to watch the sunrise.
Cala Bassa
Cala Bassa is very popular with families. It is a large bay where there are all kinds of things for children to do. In the dunes and woods behind the beach, a lot of hide-and-seek is played. In the water are many different coves to play in. The water here is shallow for a very long time. The buoys indicate where it is safe to go. Parents can have fun at Cala Bassa Beach Club which occupies a large part of the bay.
Cala Tarida
Cala Tarida is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza. The water here is crystal clear up to some distance offshore. There are a number of rocks in the bay that children enjoy playing around. Furthermore, it is possible to rent pedal boats (including a slide) here. Guaranteed fun for the kids. Furthermore, there are stores to buy some drinks. A little higher up here is Cotton Beach, a popular beach club.
Cala San Vicente
This is 1 of the northernmost beaches on the island. The road there is magnificent with several beautiful viewpoints. San Vicente is a golden sand beach with lots of room to play. Furthermore, you can also rent pedal boats and canoes etc. here. Sunbeds and umbrellas for parents and lots to do for kids. Around the boardwalk are several stores to buy some snacks. Fun at Cala Vicente can be combined with visits to The Giri Cafe and hidden beaches like Cala den Serra and Cala Xaracca, among others.
Es Figueral
Es Figueral is an elongated sandy beach in northeastern Ibiza. A typical family beach. In the middle of a beach is a walkway to a rock. A real hot spot for kids to catch crabs around here. Also a perfect place for snorkeling. The water here stays shallow for a long time and the sand is very fine. There are two restaurants to quench your thirst.

Fun activities in Ibiza with children
Of course, Ibiza also offers a few things for the kids to do, beyond the well-known getaway to the beach. Below is a small selection for inspiration!
Can Muson
Can Muson is a farm where you can also eat. Its founder is Ibiza-born Maria Mari. Helped by her youngest son, she started the ecological finca Can Muson, near Santa Eularia. Because of Maria´s love for animals, in addition to growing organic fruits and vegetables, she began to raise more and more livestock. And when she opened her store, she noticed that when families came to buy fruits and vegetables, the children wanted to know all about the animals. She partnered with nearby schools, where classes came by for a field trip of sorts and the children learned all about the animals. They were also given lessons in growing vegetables without insecticides and thus the “Can Muson school farms” were created.
These days, you can also eat and have lunch at Can Muson. Traditional Ibiza dishes made from natural, fresh organic produce. She still uses the recipes of her grandparents to use them to maintain the island’s traditions, which are almost lost in Ibiza today. The kids have plenty of room to wander through the lovely gardens and watch the animals.
You can also celebrate a birthday at Can Muson with a large group of children, for example, and the children will be allowed to feed and pet the animals.
Suppen / paddle boards Ibiza
Suppen has been on a meteoric rise in recent years. But it has been around a bit longer! It started in the late 1940s in Hawaii so surf instructors could better monitor their surfing students. The reason supping is so popular is because it is accessible to everyone. You learn it quickly and it is a very good work-out.
It is suitable for all ages so you can go out with the whole family. You will be advised on the best locations and appointments can be made all over the island.
The company we recommend is called: Paddle Ibiza. With them, it is possible to put together your own trip for a personalized experience.
Acrobosc Ibiza
Acrobosc Ibiza is a fantastic outdoor adventure park with activities for all ages. Located in a pine forest just 100 meters from Cala Pada beach, there are three circuits you can follow depending on your height and age, challenging your balance and skills. Thirty-nine platforms between 2 and 6 meters high, 49 obstacles and 20 zip lines from 4 to 65 meters long and trampolines guarantee you 2 to 2 1/2 hours of fun and adrenaline.
There are several options, starting for children ages 3-5, which will follow the green circuit. Then the blue circuit for ages 6-10, and for the slightly older, the red circuit, from ages 11-18.
This nice park, in the middle of the woods, is open from April 1 to the end of October and is located in the east of the island near S “Argamassa. Prices are from €15-€25.
