Which Ibiza hotspots are really not to be missed?

No island in Europe where so many new places open and close every season as in Ibiza. So do you want to know where the new hot spots are? Then quickly read this article. These hot spots are by no means all still known to the general public. The selection we have made is spread throughout the island. So there’s always a fun hot spot near you! From food markets to high-end restaurants, this hotspot list has everything to make your summer on 2019 a success. Enjoy reading.

    Our 2019 Ibiza hotspots are:

    1. Cala Bonita
    2. San Juan market
    3. Los Enamorados
    4. Aiyanna
    5. Izakaya
    6. Heart
    7. Aubergine
    8. Las puertas del cielo
    9. Jul’s Ibiza
    10. Casa Maca
    11. Chiringuito Blue
    12. La Huerta

    1. Cala Bonita s’Estanyol

As a beach, S’estanyol was often skipped by visitors. Somehow understandable since the previous beach club was a bit of a past glory and the seaweed was not cleaned up. That changed, however, when Cala Bonita took over the old joint and thoroughly overhauled it. It now exudes a bit of the same atmosphere as Aiyanna but slightly less pretentious. The old, worn-out sunbeds have been replaced by wooden beach beds with lovely white cushions. However, this hotspot is still not very well known to the general public. There is a cocktail bar that even comes and delivers cocktails to your beach beds. The beach was completely cleaned up and the ugly duckling was transformed into a beautiful swan.

    2. San Juan market on Sunday

Every Sunday you will find the San Juan Market in the square opposite Giri Cafe. Some people think this is the last piece of authentic hippie market in Ibiza. It is very small-scale, especially if you compare it to markets like Punta Arabi and Las Dalias. At least here the items, offered for sale, are really still handmade. You will also find many local products, cakes, fruits and oils of all kinds. In 2018, this market also started selling modern art in and special corner where all the artists have their presentation together. When the church service opposite is finished, usually around noon, live music begins in the marketplace. The market itself begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends by 3. Perfect idea also to combine a visit to this market with lunch at Giri cafe or the beach of Cala den Serra.

    3. Los Enamorados

In the north of Ibiza lies the boutique hotel Los Enamorados. The owners are French former basketball player Pierre Traversier and Rozemarijn de Witte, founder of design studio Studio Room, whose clients include Linda magazine and many other fine Dutch magazines. This beautiful couple cannot be missed on the hotel’s mural. For years, the small beach of Portinatx has been an underrated child. In fact, there was never anything to do here until Los Enamorados opened its doors. This hot spot is mainly characterized by its beautiful design. Vintage goodies interspersed with sleek modern design. There is also a tasteful store with beautiful vintage furniture, art, decorations and fashion. Despite being a hotel, you can also come here for drinks and, of course, dine in the restaurant, overlooking the Punta Galera sunset. Be sure to reserve a table in advance.

    4. Aiyanna

Aiyanna on Cala Nova is one of the new tastemakers on this beautiful beach. The entire restaurant exudes the atmosphere of Bali. Wicker chairs, large colored umbrellas and excellent Mediterranean cuisine with lots of produce from its own garden. The water at Cala Nova is the clearest of all the beaches on the east coast.

    Aiyanna

    5. Izakaya

The well-known restaurant concept Izakaya has also touched down in Ibiza. It is located at the small traffic circle of Marina Botafoch in the Sir Joan hotel. Ibiza’s famous marina where many other hotspots can also be found. Izakaya, originally from Amsterdam, has predominantly Japanese cuisine with some Peruvian fusion dishes thrown in. Eating at Izakaya is an experience, with live music in the evening. In summer at sunset, the pool turns into the hotspot-gathering, where trendy Ibiza people come to relax on the loungers with a cocktail. There is also a show kitchen for 15 people. Of course, this one cannot be visited lightly.

    6. Heart

Not a new hot spot on the list but Heart is still unique. Dinner-and-a-show at the highest level! Heart is a project of El Bulli (Barcelona) and Cirque du Soleil. The result is a total dining experience. You start outside on the cozy rooftop terrace. This is where various bites come along, by beautifully dressed performers, who demonstrate various acts. Then you will dine downstairs in the hall where the show begins. Not only does the show take place on stage, but performers are constantly walking through the venue. A unique experience where the level is even higher than the Lio. Of course, the setting is not entirely comparable either. Heart is not cheap but the experience is well worth it.

    7. Eggplant

A classic! Just outside the village of Santa Gertrudis is the “farm to table” restaurant Aubergine. A hot spot for people who like to enjoy country dining. The cuisine is Mediterranean with many products from their own gardens, or directly from the island. Eggplant is Atzaro’ s little sister and has adopted much of her styling. You can choose to dine in the garden or inside the finca. There is also an organic store on the same premises, where you can buy some souvenirs. Think lavender soaps, Ibiza bags and olive oil from the island. And in 2018 we all went dancing on Sunday nights to the tasty disco music of Las Cajas Viejas (the Dutch “old boxes” Ida and Daan) in Aubergine, in the summer of 2019 on Friday nights these ladies are spinning in Atzaro.

    Aubergine

    8. Las puertas del cielo

The restaurant itself here is actually nothing special. The place, on the other hand, is truly unique! It is located in the hills of Santa Agnes, with sweeping views high over the sea. The beautiful rock in the sea is called “The Gateway to Heaven” because boats can pass under it. Many people come to this place to serenely remember someone in the family who is no longer here. We especially recommend coming here for the sunset. While enjoying a drink on the rocks in front of the precipice, enjoy a 180-degree view.

    Las puertas del cielo

    9. Jul’s Ibiza

This hot spot is also virtually undiscovered by the general public. A Greek restaurant which is actually much more than that. The atmosphere here is particularly cozy. Especially when dusk falls and the many lanterns and lights come on and the live music begins. A hip place with a beautiful setting. In the evening after dinner, the feet go off the floor here as well. The gift shop is perhaps the best of all the restaurants we have seen. Nice unique items from island makers are offered here. It is a trendy place where it gets really cozy in the evening. As far as we are concerned, one of the best new hotspots you should definitely have seen.

    10. Casa Maca

You really need to know this spot, because really, when you take the Can Bufi exit, on the highway from Santa Eularia to the airport, you expect only industry. But halfway through this industrial area, there is suddenly the rural road towards the “rural¨ hotel Casa Maca. Slowly driving up the hill you arrive at an oasis of tranquility. Large tables to eat at, a delicious smelling BBQ with meat from Ibiza livestock farmers and vegetables from their own garden, a children’s corner where children can draw or make jewelry under supervision and the cozy restaurant with a covered terrace. Every Sunday there is Sunday Roast (traditional English dinner of roast beef, baked potato and Yorkshire pudding) and often there is live music. But best of all is the view of Dalt Vila.

    11. Chiringuito Blue

This trendy beach club started in 2018 on Santa Eularia’s promenade as you walk toward Siesta. Spacious beach beds right by the sea, delicious cocktails and a nice menu that includes fresh fish, fusion dishes, a kids menu and tasty healthy snacks for the beach. Chiringuito Blue has valet parking and the staff is super friendly. In short, a great place to go with the whole family on a hot beach day. At 9 a.m. they are already open for breakfast. In the months of July and August, we recommend booking a bed or a table in advance!

    Chiringuito Blue

    12. La Huerta

This hot spot is also virtually undiscovered by the general public. Two friends, Spanish Raquel and German Julia, started this organic foodmarket in 2018 in the orange orchard of Agroturismo Can Jaume just past the village of Puig den Valls. You can chill while enjoying a smoothie in the hammocks or day beds and listen to live music, for example. All drinks and snacks are organic, with many options for vegetarian and vegan. But of course there is also roasted organic meat from the BBQ or and burger, for the meat lovers! La Huerta (the vegetable garden) begins as early as April and is open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and in June, July, August and August, due to the heat, on Saturdays from 6 p.m. to midnight. Admission is 7 euros, which includes a drink.
