Hi Ibiza
The super-modern club Hi-Ibiza is definitely worth a visit just for its history! Located on the main road through tourist Playa den Bossa, opened on May 28, 2017, on the spot where the legendary club Space stood.
A piece of that history …
Space opened its doors in 1986, then in conjunction with the Aguamar water park. It wasn’t until Pepe Rosello took over the space in 1989 that it became an award-winning dance club. He was licensed to be open all day as long as he closed somewhere for two hours. This created dance parties on the terrace in the morning while the planes flew over. Carl Cox was the “resident DJ” there for 15 years with nights such as “We love Space on the Terrace” and “Music is Revolution.”
The closing of Space on Oct. 2, 2016 caused a stir. After 27 years – the closing of an era – and the run on tickets, the hours of waiting in line and Carl Cox and Pepe on stage during his last track “Angie Stone -Wish I didn’t miss you,” with crying die-hard clubbers from the first hours.
Ushuaia Entertainment (Matutes family) took over Space and converted it into one of the most modern clubs in the world, with an outstanding sound system, the finest light shows, 3 halls, 2 terraces and even vinyl DJs in the restroom.
For summer 2018, Club Hi contracted DJs such as Black Coffee, Armin van Buuren, Jonas Blue, Roger Sanchez and Hardwell.
Hi has a large parking lot, and since Ushuaia has to close at 12 a.m., clubbers need only cross the street to proceed.
