Ibiza restaurant tips from Gertjan!
Let me introduce myself first: I am Gertjan Holleman and I do the social media for House Rent Ibiza and therefore write reviews of restaurants and beach clubs. During my first vacation in 1983, I instantly fell in love with beautiful Ibiza with its relaxed atmosphere. Thirty years later, I sold my modeling agency MAX Models in Rotterdam and emigrated to Ibiza with my husband Johan. I am also happy to help you find the perfect vacation home in Ibiza.
Our new all-year round resort is much more than just a “party island.” You can sail, bike and take beautiful walks, laze in the sun at one of the many chiringuitos and also eat exquisite food.
The past two years have seen the addition of many great restaurants, some known only to insiders. If La Paloma, Aubergine, Casa Piedra, Patchwork, Bambuddha Grove and Nagai were also already among your Top 10, then you are definitely going to appreciate my tips of new restaurants!
Villa of the week: Casa Tranquila

Villa Casa Tranquila is your own paradise in Ibiza! Here you will have little noise and enjoy an oasis of tranquility.
LA IMPRENTA
Many tourists come to the island for its laid-back atmosphere, beach clubs and hippy-style terraces. La Imprenta is none of this! The elegant, Grand Café-Restaurant is an oddity and therefore innovative. Currently “the place to be.
Housed in the old printing house of “El Diario de Ibiza,” the local newspaper. This neoclassical building dates back to 1898 and has been completely renovated. It takes you back in time with luxurious marble floors, heavy velvet curtains with matching wallpaper and a classic spiral staircase with dramatic chandelier.
You can purely enjoy the compelling cabaret “Chicago” with sultry singing and dancing that takes you back to the vibrant 1920s.
The menu was created by renowned chefs Lorenzo D’Abate and Andrea Santili.

MAISON LE VRAI
Pastis had been my favorite restaurant for French food for years. But with the arrival of Maison Le Vrai in 2017, Pastis does have one more competitor. This chic bistro with high walls and mirrored ceilings serves finger-licking French cuisine.
And owner Boris is unstoppable! On March 30, 2018, he opened within walking distance of the bistro, now also under the same name a patisserie for breakfast with coffee, pastries and smoothies, where you can also take away fresh French baguettes.
Next door, he opened a lunch restaurant overlooking Plaza del Parque with delicious sandwiches and salads and their infamous onion soup.
Boat Rental & Car Rental Ibiza
Thanks to our local knowledge, we offer boat and car rentals in addition to cozy homes. Explore Ibiza’s coves from the water or its roads in style.
THE BOAT HOUSE
The interior style is vintage with lots of second-hand furniture from different countries.
In 2016, owner Jay decided to hang up his photographic modeling career and sailed over to Barcelona with his Brazilian girlfriend. By pickup truck, they traveled across the Spanish mainland. They ate at various restaurants, talked to fishermen and came up with their menu of Fusion dishes with influences from Morocco, Iran and, of course, Spain, among others.
The menu has something for everyone. Vegetarian, vegan, fish and meat and even hamburger with fries. The fish on the menu arrives fresh every day by boats on the beach. If you are less hungry, you are also welcome to lie down in one of the hammocks with a delicious cocktail or smoothie.
AIYANNA
Beach club Aiyanna is owned by the same owner as the popular Amante and opened in 2017.
Located on the beautiful bay of Cala Nova, the restaurant immediately turned in a great first season.
On April 25, 2018, Aiyanna opened the summer with a spectacular show and live music. The interior is what you expect in Ibiza at a beach club, but unique are the huge umbrellas. These tall parasols were declared cultural heritage in Guatamala in 1999.
Starting May 7, you can also join Aiyanna for breakfast in the early morning sun with yoga classes. These classes, in English and Spanish, are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 9:00 a.m. After class, eat a healthy breakfast of freshly baked whole grain bread, eggs, yogurt with fruit and granola and freshly squeezed juices. Advance reservations are recommended.
LOS ENAMORADOS
Last but not least: Los Enamorados. This boutique hotel, just beyond the small port town of Portinatx, has a great restaurant and a tasteful store with beautiful vintage furniture, art, decorations and high fashion.
The owners are French ex-basketball player Pierre Traversier and Rozemarijn de Witte, founder of design studio Studio Room whose clients include Linda magazine and many other fine Dutch magazines. A beautiful couple, not to be missed on the hotel mural.
Please note that the age limit at the hotel is 18 and dogs are not allowed. To Los Enamorados you go mainly for a romantic mini-break. It’s a great place to hang out overlooking the sunset on Punta Galera.
